Winston's Thoughts for Life

Almighty God, Creator of all that is seen and unseen. By your might you constitute kingdoms and through your omnipotence you establish authorities. As we bow our heads in your presence, we are deeply aware that unless you ordain our endeavors we will labor in vain. Therefore, loving God, guardian of our hopes and dreams, we intercede for our country. Guide her leaders, at all levels, that they may walk in godly wisdom, that they may work with heavenly strength, and that they may rule with holy humility.

Lord, equip her people to love righteousness, to honor goodness, and to live each day in highest integrity.

Forgive us Lord when we are mistaken, for we frequently err. Forgive us when we hate. Forgive us when we are apathetic toward the needs of others. Forgive us when we are selfish and greedy, uncontrolled in our lust for power. Forgive us when we forget you and your omnipotence. Forgive us and have mercy upon us. Do not repay us as we deserve, rather let your grace refresh us and renew us for new days of service.

Fill us with the power of your presence and change our lives to conform to your character. Then will we have righteous strength to stand before the World and declare that we will be known for righteousness. Then will we, with dedication and determination, declare to the kingdoms of this world, that we the people of the United States of America are One Nation under God, and we support every good, oppose every evil and will not be dissuaded from righteousness regardless of the foe.

This service we may accomplish only through your blessing. So grace our nation today O God, Amen.
